For our one year wedding anniversary, Cole and I wanted to do something special. However, we were exhausted from working a lot of hours, applying to “B-School”, and traveling so we needed some R&R. We also wanted to spend some time with our dog, Lucy, who we had been neglecting as we traveled around the world.

We decided we would take a road trip down to Amelia Island right near the Georgia/Florida state line. Amelia Island, specifically Fernandina Beach is very dog friendly and has a great downtown with lots of restaurants. We decided this was the perfect place to spend a few days relaxing.

We took a day off of work and stopped in Savannah on our drive down. We got married at the Westin Savannah almost exactly one year ago so we enjoyed reminiscing back on the wonderful memories of our wedding weekend. We ate at the restaurant where we had our rehearsal dinner, Vic’s on the River, and explored River Street.

Afterwards, we finished the drive down to Florida and made it to Fernandina Beach in enough time to spend a few hours at the beach with our dog and then grabbed a drink at a beachside restaurant.

We spent the rest of the weekend enjoying the beautiful weather at the beach. We also got to enjoy some delicious meals at the local restaurants in downtown Fernandina. Here are a few photos from our trip!
