We knew before we moved to Europe, we wanted to spend some quality time with my older and brother and his family. We chose to visit the weekend that was my niece’s 10th birthday party because who doesn’t love a kid’s birthday party?!
I flew in Friday night and met the Rooney clan in Boston. Unfortunately, Cole still had his MBA classes in Chicago, so he met up with us on Saturday afternoon. We decided to take a boat through the Boston Harbour and have dinner in town.
The following morning, we got up early and got ready to head to Get Air, a trampoline park. I had a lot of fun pretending to be a kid again and jumping around like a lunatic with 6 other tweens 🙂 After the trampoline park, we headed into Portland to go to Build a Bear and walked around a bit through downtown.

That evening we picked up Cole and had some delicious BBQ before heading to one of the neighbor’s house who was having his annual White Party.
Sunday, we spent enjoying the beautiful summer weather in Maine. We went on a hike and brought a picnic from my favorite bakery in town – Beach Pea. We spent some time flying kites and relaxing in the sun before we unfortunately had to head to Portland to fly back home.

While we wish we had longer to spend with my family, I am so glad we had the opportunity to spend a bit of time with them before our big move.
