Sun and Sand in Scheveningen

I spent a weekend in June hanging out with two of my Amsterdam besties – Whitney and Melissa. We initially planned the trip as a ‘baby shower’ to celebrate Whitney. Instead of a traditional baby shower, she wanted to have a girls trip, which we were totally on board with and planned a weekend to the Netherlands beach town of Scheveningen (despite a weekend there, I still can’t pronounce the town’s name correctly).

We spent the weekend just hanging out and relaxing in this charming little town. We enjoyed the restaurants along the beach, checked out the town, had a delicious dinner at Pastanini eating for 5 (I found out that morning Melissa was pregnant which made the weekend even more special!). We had a great spa morning on Sunday and ended our time with the best Dim Sum ever at Full Moon City in The Hague.IMG_2359

We then headed back to Amsterdam where we walked around enjoying the gorgeous weather and me reminiscing on our time spent living in this amazing city. We finished the weekend at one of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam, La Piazza, eating delicious pierogis and Italian food where our good friend Hilary was able to join us after she literally just landed from Bordeaux. It was the perfect ending to a great weekend in the Netherlands.

We had so much fun spending the weekend together. It was so special to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby Antilla and finding out about Baby McGlynn!
